Curated by the Circolo Sadoul Ischia
30/07/2024 - 01/08/2024
29th Edition of the School of Higher Education in History and Film Criticism "L. Visconti"

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of his death, which took place on 13 November 1974, the Georges Sadoul Circle in Ischia celebrates the art of Vittorio De Sica, dedicating to him the 29th edition of the School of High Formation in History and Film Criticism “L. Visconti”.
From Tuesday 30 July to Thursday 1 August, at 9:30 pm, in the Gardens of Villa Arbusto in Lacco Ameno, three evenings of insights and projections to tell one of the most popular and loved figures of the show of the twentieth century. An Italian cinema, that of the post-war period, which saw De Sica as the absolute protagonist, always with the poignant involvement of a true author and the mastery, refined and popular, of a full interpreter.
Organized in collaboration with the Italian Institute for Philosophical Studies of Naples and the Municipality of Lacco Ameno, the 2024 edition will be curated by prof. Flavio De Bernardinis, Professor of History of cinema and analysis of the cinematographic language at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia, as well as author of a monograph, “Vittorio De Sica: l’arte della scena” (Fondazione CSC, Luce Cinecittà, Edizioni Sabinae), which focuses not only on the famous films by director and actor, but also on its very important theatrical activity.

These are the appointments in the museum of Villa Arbusto:

“De Sica actor: characters… that miscreants” (Tuesday, July 30);

“De Sica actor and director: gold of Naples … and not only” (Wednesday, July 31);

“De Sica director: yesterday, today… forever” (Thursday 1 August).

During the evenings will be screened some excerpts of the films directed and performed by him.
